I cannot see the bios and have no video out to the monitor (connected to a Samsung SD that I had previously. I do not hear any beeps during set up, I just see the red CPU light. My fans and HSU are running fine and cold. When I power up I see the CPU Red Light on continuously. Removed and tested DIMM in multiple slots and multiple configsĬonnected to multiple monitors, HD and SD using DVI Dual Link and HDMI (no image displays) Removed, checked all CPU connections and re-installed (no broken or bent pins) I'm really confused about how those issues are even related.Desperate for help! I just built a new system (specs below) and I can't get past the CPU Led Red light! I've been through every thread I can find and while most references are for earlier versions of the ASUS Mobos I'm still not seeing any resolutions for the red light (except the CMOS, removed battery, reset which I've tried multiple times already.Ĭompleted Trouble Shooting (varied order):

Strangely enough ErP S4+S5 doesn't turn off the USB ports when the PC shuts down with the Asus Strix GTX 1080 Ti card in the PC, but does it every single time with either iGPU or the EVGA GTX 1080 FE. Graphics card works flawless in my server, and my GTX 1080 which came from RMA today, works perfect in the new system as well. It's most likely a BIOS screw up from Asus. 3- Remove memory sticks and start computer. 2- Make cpu mainboard and cpu connectors are well plugged in. No difference, they work just fineĮdit3: Found the cause of the issue. You need to unplug and push on power button to empty all the circuits of the remaining electricty so it wont make a 'spark' peak of discharge. So next up is PSU testing.Įdit2: Also tested memory modules from my server, and the new modules in my server. Will have to try and force it on PCEe gfxĮdit: Tried forcing the BIOS to use PEG only, but this did not help at all. Everything just rides smooth and I can't for the life of me get it to bug again. I just found out if I remove the graphics card, everything works like a charm! XMP overclock, vcore underclock, hibernation and sleep, ErP S4+S5 too. In by bios i kan "force" the use of PCIe, instead of iGPU. Problem goes away when removing GFX = Either there is something wrong with the GFX, or as you suggest the PSU is the problem, maybe not giving enough power right at the start. This seems to be more than "just a bugged BIOS" to me, would anyone agree, or have I completely missed something here? I'm getting a GTX 1080 in the door early next week from a RMA, so I will test that out and I can hijack two memory modules from my server also. Something does tell me this is an issue with power delivery, let's just call it a hunch! Two other guys on a Danish hardware forum have similar issues, oddly enough all of us have an EVGA PSU (different models) Different graphics card (Have tested with only on board GPU, and that seemed to work flawlessly every time).Different PSU (Have testet it with a PSU tester, and it reported no issues, but I'm not sure that's a 100% certainty).Different CPU (this one is a bit hard, and the likelihood of it being the CPU at fault is extremely slim, yet not impossible of course).

I tried re-uploading BIOS 0701, 0801, and 0906 and it makes no difference whatsoever which of these versions I use. Sometimes I have to power cycle 10 times in a row, before the boot logo appears usually followed by a safe mode warning, prompting me to enter the BIOS. Doing a power cycle on the PSU is the only way to try and fix it, but it doesn't in the long run. When this happens the keyboard and mouse also fails to light up. But I get these seemingly random boot fails where I only see a cursor (underscore) on the screen, which normally appears right before the ASUS/TUF logo.
